Larry Reed is Academic Vice President of the Boulder Institute, responsible for the content of Boulder's programs. Previously he served as the CEO of the Opportunity International Network, a coalition of microfinance organizations serving over three million clients with loans, savings and insurance. As CEO, Larry guided Opportunity's work to develop commercial financial institutions that focused on serving clients at the bottom end of the economic ladder. Larry has also served as Opportunity's Director for the African and Caribbean Region and as the Chair of the SEEP Network.
Peter Tomlinson

Peter is from the United Kingdom and has seventeen years professional experience in the field of enterprise development, including long term project experience in Latin America, the Caribbean and the South Pacific. He currently manages the enterprise development training programme for the ILO’s International Training Centre in Turin, Italy (1999 to present day). He specialises in entrepreneurship, microfinance, business development services and enabling business environments for small enterprises. Mr Tomlinson holds a Masters degree in Development Administration and Planning (1995) from Bristol University, a degree in Economics and Accounting (1975) and the professional qualification of Chartered Accountant (1978). He has worked extensively on enterprise development projects for international development organisations, including the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the European Commission (EC) and the UK’s Department for International Development (DFID).
Martin Gasser

Martin Gasser has 7 years professional experience working in the field of Local Economic Development. After studying in Italy, France, Spain and Germany, Mr. Gasser has been working for the European Commission (European project evaluation Germany-France) and graduated with a Masters degree in Local Economic Development at the London School of Economics (2000). Based first in the ILO Headquarters in Geneva (Cooperative Branch) and then at the ILO training Centre in Turin (Enterprise Development), Mr. Gasser’s has been working in countries such as El Salvador, Brasil, Chile, Mexico, Burkina Faso, Senegal, Zambia, Madagascar, Cameroon, Iran, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand, India, Bangladesh and Vietnam.
Shawn Hernandez

Shawn R. Hernández is a Program Manager at the Boulder Institute of Microfinance. She comes to Boulder Institute with over 15 years of experience working with poverty and cultural awareness issues as a social worker and community organizer. In her native Seattle, Shawn has worked in Maternal and Child Health with immigrant communities. Shawn has lived abroad in Nicaragua where she worked with a Nicaraguan NGO, researching and developing a program to address the social needs of girls living and working in the open markets of Managua. Through her connection and ongoing ties with Nicaragua, Shawn has helped to develop an educational program where high school students learn through community service in Central America. Shawn has served for seven years as the producer of the annual, city-sponsored, Mexican Día de Muertos celebration in Seattle, a community-organized festival that honors those who have passed away.
Based in Seattle, Washington, Shawn lives on a houseboat with her husband. Shawn holds her B.A. from Georgetown University and an MBA with a certificate in International Development from the University of Washington. In addition to English, Shawn speaks Spanish and French.
Rashmi Fioravanti

Rashmi holds a Master degree in European Business Management obtained at the ESCP-EAP, Paris and a degree in International Affairs, University of Turin. Since 2005 she works at the ITC-ILO. Before joining the ITC-ILO, she worked at the European Training Foundation. She speaks italian, english, french and basic spanish.
Paola Abbate

Paola holds a Specialization Course in European Public Relations obtained at the Italy-Luxemburg Chamber of Commerce and a degree in Mass and Multimedia Communication obtained at the University of Turin.
Since 2006 she works at the ITC-ILO. Before joining the ITC-ILO she worked for TOROC – Olympic Committee for the XX Olympic Winter Games of Turin 2006. She speaks Italian, English, French and Spanish.
Gloria Filippi

A Turin native, Gloria has lived abroad for many years in England, France, Morocco and Spain. Proficient in Italian, English, French, Spanish, and basic German, she has a degree in Commerce and Administration from Istituto Maffei Torino.
Specialized in event organization, she joined the Boulder Team since 2006.
Camilo Rubiano

Camilo is a national of Paraguay, where he served in different possitions for the Government, the private sector and non-profit organizations.
He holds a law degree from the National University of Asuncion and he is specialized in different areas of international commercial law.
He joined the Boulder Team in 2007 and he is fluent in Spanish, English and Italian.
Alain Granson

Alain Granson is Program Manager at the Boulder Institute of Microfinance.
He has gained over 10 years of professional experience in development and training worldwide working on a wide variety of projects for an academic consultancy (UNECIA), an international NGO (Consumers International) and as a free-lance. He has conducted numerous field visits in over 40 countries in Europe, Asia, Africa, and North and South America.
French national, graduated from a Paris-based Business School, Alain worked 10 years in the UK before moving to Chile with his wife and 3 children.
